~Dance With Cinderella~
She spins and she sways
to whatever song plays
without a care in the world….
This was our first year of ballet.
The anticipation of recital day and the looks of pure bliss after their performance made the entire year of scrambling to find ballet shoes and sitting in the studio with three ancy kids an hour twice a week completely worth it.
All I can think when I scroll through these pictures is Stephen Curtis Chapman’s song, “Dance With Cinderella”. I cried every time I heard that song for the longest time. What is it with girls and their love of all things pretty?
During the rehearsal, my little four and six year old couldn’t take their eyes off the big girls and their tulle covered leotards and silky toe shoes.
As Avery stared wide-eyed at the ballerinas, under her breath she said, “Oh, they’re so beautiful.”
There is something so precious and simple about this age and I’m enjoying every minute of it. They don’t care if things are mismatched or over matched. They are the beholders….and whatever they happen to like is beautiful.
Can that please not change?

just love it~ your girls are absolute little dolls!
and yes.. what a sweet song. makes me cry too.
Xanga is not being very nice this morning about loading pics, so I can only see a couple. Your little ballerina is adorable! I am sure your camera, and your heart, were taking a lot of pictures! I know I don’t have to tell you to cherish these times. They are so very precious! How I wish for just one day I could go back to when my children were small and so filled with wonder! Now my girls are ages 27 and 32. I have a grandchild who is experiencing these things. I wish I could be there to see them, but my daughter is good about sending pictures. Blessings!
They are beautiful dancing dolls!
I can see in their shining eyes how special it was
To them and
For them…
“They are the beholders….and whatever they happen to like is beautiful.”
Yes! Sarah is having fun that way too…putting together what she likes, mismatched and otherwise…and enjoying it!
(I hope that Mae is right. I’ve had a terrible time this morning on xanga, I thought it might be my own computer…but hope it’s a xanga glitch for them to fix!)
So very dear and lovely. I am glad you are treasuring these times. What a blessing!
Yes, xanga is being very strange for me too.
“They are the beholders…and whatever they happen to like is beautiful.” Love that about your little girls! I guess we all started out that way. It’s a bummer we loose that somewhere along the way!
Beautiful pictures of your little angels!
I can only see a couple of your pictures, too, but they are beautiful! Girls are wonderful! I know what you mean about all the hassle of classes all year- but it is so worth it! I love recital weekend and to see all the hard work paying off- it gets better every year!
What a beautiful site you have! I love the photo with the girl in the tree swing! I’m new to Xanga and trying to find new friends. I am a school teacher. I am also a writer/photographer. I do a daily photo devotional called Picture My Thoughts. I just decided yesterday to get on Xanga. I need some Xanga friends! Have a wonderful day! —-Myra Johnson
