~Lessons Learned er,uh…Learning~
…….Somebody turned 2!…….
Just a few things I’m learning in life….
1. You have to be okay with being misunderstood, misrepresented, and misquoted.
2. People are complicated. If you have even just one or two friends who love you faults and all, if you can stomach their idiosyncrasies, if you can tolerate their junk and they can tolerate your junk, if they are loyal to you and you to them, you’re blessed. People want to be loved-warts and all.
3. Your kids are going to struggle. Get used to the idea.
4. If you aren’t really careful, you can stay so physically busy or mentally distracted, you miss hours of opportunity and countless teachable moments with your kids….even if you’re with them all day. Don’t do that. Colossal mistake.
5. There’s no place like home. (Turns out, Dorothy had the right idea)
6. There’s always more to do. More to get. More to learn. More to see. More to say. I think it’s true, less really is more. Stop looking for more and appreciate what is. You miss the present looking for the future. Stop. Breathe.
7. Go to bed when you’re tired. A little rest does a world of good for a tired Mama.
8. Band of Brothers is the best movie/mini series ever created.
9. Don’t waste time at 8:30 at night trying to create a 10 item list when you only have 8 things to say. Sitting at a computer can be a huge waste of time. Watch something on your dvr and fold some clothes.

Amen and amen! Working on a few of those, myself, lately. Particularly the going to bed one.
And the being too busy. Your girls are beautiful! TWO – what a fun age!

how are YOU? with your baby turning two and all?! so fun seeing them learn and grow. and yet all the while it tugs at my heart too with its bittersweetness.
and then as far as #1 ^^^ i am learnING ’bout that. :/ who defines me. who doesn’t. mostly about who DOES. and that makes all the difference.
i am privileged to have those kind of friends in my life…and have had the opportunities recently to be reminded of just how precious they are.
#2…no kidding!
#4…i’m feeling like i could comment on everything…i’ll spare ya. ha. but #4 is something that HE has been putting His thumb on for me…and now here you are, bringing it up too!

oh my gosh! she can’t be TWO already!! wow~ it’s so cool and just incredible to get the opportunity to watch each other’s kiddos grow up across the computer screen. last year at ffe we were talking about how neat it would be to have our families all meet. but i was saying, we would totally freak the kids out because we’d be all, “oh.. i remember when you were born, sweetie!” and they’d be like, “who is this crazy woman i’ve never seen in my entire life??” haha.
speaking of ffe, i’m so bummed you won’t be there. i was just telling shayne today that one of THE MAIN girls i wanted to be there, isn’t. 
wish i had tons of money to fly you up.. or even tons more to fly my private jet to get you. and if i had a private jet, oh imagine all the traveling we girls could do!!! 
and. i really shouldn’t write late at night when i’m high on cold medicine! i need to follow #7.
that’s a great list. love it. just felt a big amen and sigh and serious disappointment you won’t be there next wk as i read each one!!
