~My Mantle~

It was overcast, cool, and rainy today. I made chili for supper.
Fall is definitely here.
If you know Avery, you know how pensive she can be. She asks a million questions, some of which are very grown up.
From the backseat, as she stares out the window while I drive, she asks,
“Is Sparky real?” (The stuffed mascot for Wednesday night kids church activities)
“No.” was my instant reply.
“Well, then why do they say,’Sparky is watching’?”
“Uhm…..they are just trying to motivate y’all to have good behavior.”
Her nose wrinkles up in confusion. “So, they’re tricking us?”
“Yep. Pretty much, Avery.”
“Hmm. I wonder why teachers do that.”
“I don’t know, Babe.”

LOVE your mantle! What a smart little girl she is!
Your mantel is BEAUTIFUL! So lovely and inviting.
Your Avery girl has her head on straight! I like that in a person! Good job for answering her with the same “matter-of-factness” (although I doubt she would have let you get away with anything else!).
Your mantle looks lovely! The way kids think is so refreshing, isn’t it? Amber was telling me about Emma singing her made up song, “Jesus fix me everywhere.” That is also a great kid’s moment! Kids are great!
Love that! She’s too smart! I adore your header too. Those outfits couldn’t be cuter.
i don’t know your Avery, but i like the way she thinks! smart cookie she is!=)

It’s definitely not feeling like fall here but it’s fun to see in the blogs.
you’ve got a smart kiddo there. Sometimes us teachers just try to use anything we can to motivate. I remember my older brothers and sister telling me stuff that I totally believed when I was little and then years later I’d ask them about it and realize it wasn’t true
@redladybug18 - I hope fall comes your way soon!
And yes, I certainly understand teachers pulling out everything they have to produce cooperation!
@down_onthefarm - @Elizabethmarie_1 - @inanorchard - @foreveranoatneygirl_n2Hisown - @totallycherished - Thanks girls! Glad you all like the mantle. A friend of mine inspired me. Who knew $1 pumpkins strewn all over a mantle would give me the look I was hoping for?!
Happy fall, gals!
